The Anna "Walters" team took third place in Princeton on June 8 in postseason play. On Tuesday, the girls defeated Farmersville. The win advanced them into the winner’s bracket where they suffered their first loss on Saturday against Blue Ridge.

The Anna girls continued in four back-to-back games throughout the day. They came out of the loss from Blue Ridge to face a fresh Farmersville team and were able to eliminate them with a second defeat.

Anna struggled in the first inning against Leonard but came back and won by a hefty margin. The matchup against Princeton, Anna’s fourth game of the day, resulted in the team being eliminated in third place and Blue Ridge and Princeton matching up for the Championship.

Despite playing without four of their players, and being forced to take an out in the nine hole of the lineup, the smiles on the faces of the Anna girls at the sight of medals made the hot, grueling day worth it to everyone involved.
