The Anna Coyotes continued their early season success with an impressive come-from-behind win over Aubrey on Dec. 20. The Chaps used a strong second quarter to take a commanding lead but the Anna defense was strong in the second half, helping lead to a rally and, eventually, a 36-34 victory.

Anna improved to 11-5 with the win. The Coyotes will have the first half of the Christmas week off and will participate in the Leonard tournament beginning on Thursday.

The two squads were slow starting with just 12 combined points scored in the first quarter with Aubrey taking a two-point lead. The Chaps totally shut down the Anna offense in the second quarter, however, holding it to two points in eight minutes as it scored 15 points to go up 22-7 at the end of the first half.

After the break, the Coyotes returned with a vengeance, turning the tables and starting their rally in the third quarter by closing the gap by 10 points. Anna wrapped the game up with a 15-8 fourth quarter run to complete the come-from-behind effort and get the two-point win.

Adriun Harrison was the lead scorer for Anna, finishing the game with 14 points. Freshman Keamoni Mattocks added seven to the Coyote attack, while Alex Scheidt finished the game with six points.

Other Anna scorers included: Dylan Duncan (5), Jeff Muchai (2) and Brennan White (2)
