Friends Prepare for the Fall: The Friends of the Melissa Public Library will hold an open board meeting at the library on Tuesday, Sept. 17. The board will hear reports from the new standing committee chairmen and representatives from the committee planning the 20th anniversary activities. Plus, learn more about how to submit recipes for a Friends cookbook, discuss the budget for 2013-14 and hear about library happenings and needs for the fall. For the cookbook, anyone in the Melissa and Anna area is welcome to submit three to five recipes through Sept. 25. The first 200 recipes will be accepted for the cookbook, so get yours in quickly. You may e-mail your recipe to firstname.lastname@example.org or stop by the library for a form to complete. We plan to have the cookbooks before Thanksgiving so they will be great to give as Christmas gifts.
