The Melissa Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual banquet at Melissa High School on April 13. The theme of the event was "The Heart Of Melissa."

Honored guest speakers, including Collin County Commissioner Chris Hill, MISD Trustee Anthony Figueroa and Melissa City Councilwoman Julie Anderson, spoke dynamically about what they see as being at the heart of Melissa from their respective positions. The night included dinner from El Chico of McKinney, multiple raffles, a silent auction, a unique live art/painting/music performance, bingo and special award announcements along with a regular business meeting.

The Melissa Area Chamber would like to recognize the following recipients:

Educator of the Year-Hillary Croissant

Community Partner of the Year- bHIP Global and RaceTrac

Citizen of the Year- Amy Burchett and Bobbye Fisher

Business Person of the Year- Nat Christadoss of Physical Therapy of Melissa.
