A new type of worship service is being added at First Anna starting Sunday, March 23. First Anna will offer a Spanish-language service — First Anna Española.
"This is a need we as leadership have been praying about for a few years," said Lead Pastor Zach Williams, "and this pastor, literally fell into our laps."
The pastor that will lead First Anna Española is Carlos Aragon, who is coming to the community from Prestonwood Baptist Church where he and his wife, Olga, served in the Hispanic ministry for children and adult Bible studies, as well as the worship team.
"The need for a service to reach this portion of our community has been obvious but we have not had the right person to lead it. With Carlos and his family coming to First Anna, it would not surprise us if First Anna Española became our fastest growing service, and that’s saying something with the growth we have experienced," said Williams. "Now, we are praying for a worship team that can lead the service in music."
The plan is to have First Anna Española meet simultaneously with the 9:15 a.m. service in the Worship Center. When it is time to preach, Williams will preach in English and Aragon will preach in Spanish in another part of the facility.
Once the service grows and is equipped musically, First Anna Española will have its own service time, most likely on Sunday afternoon.
