Monday’s brief meeting of the Anna ISD board of trustees started on an upbeat note with a number of recognitions.

Board President Ty Chapman and Assistant Superintendent Thomas O’Neal recognized Teachers of the Month, Caught in the Act honorees and the Employees of the Month for December.

Teacher of the Month from the high school was Chadrick Long, from the middle school it was Clayton Minor, Amber Speer from Bryant Elementary, Lindsey Johnson from Rattan Elementary and Jeanie Turnbow from Early Childhood Center were all recognized.

The district’s long standing Caught in the Act tradition recognizes district personnel who are doing something "above and beyond the call of duty." Honored from the high school was Lisa Hutchinson, Jesus Ramirez from the middle school was recognized, Kathryn Ketying from Bryant Elementary, Natasha Melero from Rattan Elementary and Lori Reeder from Early Childhood Center were all honored.

And Cassidy Price and Emily Haywood were named Employees of the Month.

"This is a small way to say thank you", said O’Neal. "We appreciate all you do every day."

In his report on the status of current board training hours for the 2013-2014 school year Chapman said "All board members completed the required training."

O’Neal reported that there were three district employee resignations in December.
