On Monday, April 1, officers responded to the 3100 block of Urban Way regarding a burglary of a habitation.

"Suspects forced themselves into the home, which was under construction and ready to be occupied, and stole the appliances," said Anna Police Sgt. Jeff Caponera.

On Thursday, March 28, officers responded to the 1600 block of Willow Way on an assault call. The investigation determined that a 15-year-old juvenile assaulted a 12-year-old by knocking him to the ground and kicking him. Charges will be filed against the 15-year-old for assault bodily injury. Also on Thursday, Steve Holland, 51, a homeless man in Anna was arrested for trespassing at Sonic.

On Monday, March 25, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of Wildwood on a burglary of a habitation call. The home’s door was kicked in and several items, including firearms, were taken.

"We had a suspect and ran a search warrant on his home where we recovered some of the stolen property," said Caponera. "We are waiting on a warrant for the suspect’s arrest."

Also on Monday, officers responded to the 300 block of Acklington regarding a burglary of a habitation. "We have a suspect here," said Caponera.

On Saturday, March 23, officers conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of S. Riggins. The driver was arrested on several outstanding warrants, open container and no driver’s license. A subsequent search warrant of his home turned up nearly five grams of meth and drug paraphernalia. Anna resident Elias Delgado, 27, was charged with possession of drugs in a drug free zone since he was within 500 feet of Mudpies & Lullabies child care center.

On Wednesday, March 20, officers responded to the 900 block of N. Riggins on a domestic disturbance call. During the investigation it was determined that a female struck her boyfriend on the head and punched him several times which led to the arrest of Anna resident Estela Mojica, 39.

On Tuesday, March 19, officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of W. White on an animal cruelty call. It was determined that two horses at that location were not properly cared for and the owner was issued a citation by Animal Control.

"The horses were extremely emaciated and dehydrated," said Caponera.

Anna resident Able Rios, 24, was arrested for warrants out of Dallas County for burglary of a habitation. Also arrested was Sheryl Ochoa, 40, who lives with Rios, on an outstanding warrant from McKinney. They are believed to be suspects in two burglaries in Anna.
