On Monday, Jan. 27, officers were dispatched to Horizon Cleaners on W. White Street where an individual was trying to sell a stolen gun. Jeffrey Young, 56, of Tulsa, Okla., was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and carrying an unlawful weapon.

"When they refused to buy it he went to Flying J truck stop where he was located by our officers. He was in possession of the handgun and amphetamine," said APD Sgt. Jeff Caponera.

On Sunday, Jan. 26, officers responded to the 300 block of O’Hara regarding an unconscious person. On arrival officers found a deceased 43-year-old female.

"She had suffered from numerous health issues and no foul play was involved," stated Caponera.

On Thursday, Jan. 23, officers received a request for assistance from the McKinney Police Department regarding a vehicle burglary suspect who was chased by McKinney officers. The suspect’s license plate was registered to an Anna resident, prompting the APD’s involvement

"We were very familiar with him," explained Caponera. "We checked his home, he was there and we arrested Chase Chandler, 27, on outstanding warrants."

The suspect subsequently admitted to the McKinney vehicle burglary and also to four vehicle burglaries in Anna.

"We cleared five cases with his arrest," added Caponera.
