On Monday, Jan. 13, officers responded to Flying J Truck Stop regarding burglary of a motor vehicle. The victim stated that she left her purse on the front seat of her locked car when she went into the store. When she returned she found the car window broken and the purse stolen.
On Sunday, Jan. 12, officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Meadow Drive on a domestic disturbance call. The investigation determined that the husband had assaulted his wife and Anna resident Jeff Sykes was arrested for assault family violence, bodily injury.
Also on Sunday, officers conducted a traffic stop at U.S. 75 and FM 455. The investigation determined that both occupants of the vehicle were wanted on outstanding warrants from Grayson County. A search of the vehicle found 2.5 grams of amphetamine. Sherman resident Joshua Jackson, 27, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, and Cameron Clayton, 28, of Sherman, was arrested on the warrant.
On Friday, Jan. 10, officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of White Pine regarding a hit and run accident. The suspect, identified by the victim, had fled in a damaged car.
The officers located the suspect’s vehicle but he had fled," said Anna Police Sgt. Jeff Caponera. "We know who the driver is and will be making the arrest."
On Tuesday, Jan. 7, while conducting a traffic stop at Kwik Kar on FM 455, officers recognized the passenger who had an outstanding warrant. During the search of the vehicle officers found marijuana pipes, and Anna resident William Wilson, 20, was arrested on the warrant.
