The Anna ISD Early Childhood Center had a "Grand" evening with its grandparents on Nov. 12. The students and teachers celebrated this special relationship between families by watching and listening to an acted out story called Loop the Loop by James Stevenson, which had special guest appearances by Maverick Otis and Randall Searls performing yo-yo tricks, while Mehgan Otis helped make the story come alive.
After hearing and seeing the story, grandparents and the students moved into the classrooms where teachers worked on a craft project to celebrate this special relationship between families. Everyone then moved to the cafeteria where they shared homemade hot chocolate and cookies prepared by the Viola Flanery.
A special thanks went to Margaret Lamb for piecing a quilt made with squares by teachers commemorating the joyous opening of the Early Childhood Center. Everyone is welcome to see it on display in the front office.
That’s not all the fun to be had, however. On Dec. 3, at 5 p.m., the school will be open for its Santa Reads Book Fair where parents can not only shop for presents (what better gift than sharing the love of reading?) but also help stock the new library with books from the profits made at the book sale.
