Anna Police Department, joined by first responders, hosted the city’s National Night Out at Slayter Creek Park on Tuesday. Area residents turned out in large numbers to the community event not only to "Take a bite out of crime" but also to enjoy the family entertainment with friends and neighbors. Police and Fire Department members and EMS personnel were on hand, emergency vehicles were on display and a life-saving helicopter from PHI made an appearance. The children enjoyed the "trick or treat" street with games, prizes and goody bags handed out by Anna police officers. Clowns Bubbles and Wowza entertained both young and old with balloon art and face painting and to the delight of the kids the splash pad was open one more time for the season. And no one went home hungry thanks to fire department volunteers who were busy cooking hot dogs. Once again, Anna’s National Night Out turned out to be a true community event.
