Friends of Ashley Anderson (coach of the Dodd City Lady Hornets and resident of Trenton) are hosting a benefit to raise money to assist Ashley with medical expenses as she recovers from a bone marrow transplant for the next four to six months in Houston. The Ashley Anderson Benefit - Hope Fight Win Believe will be held on March 29 at the Fannin County Multi-Purpose Complex in Bonham (Hwy 56 and FM 87, west of Bonham).
Anderson was diagnosed with acute leukemia in 2009. After various drugs and treatments, she received a bone marrow transplant on Feb. 19 in Houston. However, the medical expenses are astronomical and taking a toll on the family. All profits raised will assist Anderson with her medical expenses.
Events taking place at the benefit include the Texoma Regional Blood Center Bus blood donation from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., the 5K/1 Mile Fun Run/Walk with registration starting at 7 a.m.,(the 1 Mile starts at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K sets off at 9 a.m.), the Red River Scenic Motorcycle Ride (registration 10 a.m., kickstands up at 11 a.m.), a horseshoe tournament from noon to 3 p.m., Chili Cook-Off at 11 a.m. with judging at 3 p.m., face painting at noon, a bouncehouse for the kids, a concert directed by Rita Fulmer beginning at 4 p.m., a silent auction from noon to 6 p.m., a barbecue dinner from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and a live auction beginning at 6 p.m.
