Kendra Lynn Anthony Cassar (Grout), 47, died April 13 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
Kendra was born in the town of Midland, Michigan, on January 21, 1971. She was the second child of Linda Diane and Robert Lee Grout.
Kendra was a loving wife, mother, and friend, who dedicated much of her life to helping others as a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, and they loved doing almost everything together, whether travelling, exploring, or simply cuddling, which was a favorite hobby for both of them. Kendra was very fond of Starbucks coffee-a fondness her husband, John, shared with her- and in the years prior to her passing, Kendra formed close and genuine friendships with many of the staff and management of several Starbucks near Rockwall, Texas. Her Yorkie dogs, Brae and Dez, were her babies.
Kendra was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lee Grout, whom she adored.
Kendra is survived by her devoted husband of 15 years, John Cassar; children, Alexandra Cassar, Kristen Cassar, Albert Cassar, and James Cassar; mother, Linda (Eulert) Grout; sister, Kris Grout Lamberty, and brother-in-law, Jimmy Lamberty; aunt, Catherine (Eulert) Fritz, and Catherine’s husband, David Novak, as well as their daughter, Christine Fritz; uncle, Larry Eulert, his wife, Clara Eulert, and their daughter, Tara; as well as many other loved ones, family members, and dear friends, including her lifelong childhood friend, Kim Stice-Cruz.
A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 21 at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home - Rockwall Location. Inurnment immediately followed in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Preceding the memorial service, from noon-1 p.m. at the funeral home, there was a gathering for family and friends to honor and reflect upon the memory of Kendra’s life.
