William David Johnson, 68, of Anna, passed away at his home January 13, 2018. He was born January 7, 1950 in Gilmer and lived most of his life in Dallas.
He graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1968 and attended El Centro College. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Valerie, October 26, 2002. In August 2012, they moved to the community of Anna.
He worked for the National Security Agency in the field of security and computers for several years and worked in his later years as a technical writer. He enjoyed collecting model cars, model airplanes, dragons and dinosaurs. He loved various types of music and was especially fond of the era and music of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin.
David was preceded in death by his loving mother, Sarah White Ellison Johnson and his father, William L. Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Valerie; stepdaughter Carrie Wasson Butler and husband, Rick, of Anna; sisters Judy Roark and husband, Woody, of Tyler, and Patsy Brazil and family, of Tyler; and his nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
A memorial service honoring David was held Monday, January 22 at 4:00 p.m. at Anna United Methodist Church in Anna.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Scoggins Funeral Home & Crematory in Van Alstyne.
