Sherman Police


Stalking — An officer responded on June 4 to a female complainant in the 1800 block of West Washington. She stated that an unknown suspect broke the window of her bedroom while she was inside. A report was generated for stalking and the violation of an emergency protective order. The investigation is ongoing.


Assault — Officers responded on June 2 to a disturbance between a male and female in the 900 block of South FM 1417. It was learned that the two had a previous dating relationship. The female assaulted the male by scratching his neck which left a visible injury. She was arrested for assault causes bodily injury family member.


Credit/debit card abuse — An officer was dispatched on June 2 to the 1000 block of South Vaden Street in reference to fraud. Upon officer arrival, it was learned that a suspect had been staying with the victim for a couple of days. When the suspect left, she took the victim’s debit card and used it without consent. A report was made for credit card or debit card abuse. The investigation is ongoing.


Theft of property — Officers were dispatched on June 4 to a store in the 3900 block of Town Center Drive in reference to a theft. They spoke with the caller who stated that a suspect(s) entered the store and stole a pair of shoes. A report for theft was filed.


Public intoxication — A male suspect was arrested June 4 for public intoxication in the 500 block of North Highland.


Criminal mischief — The public safety administrator made contact on June 4 with a male complainant in reference to criminal mischief. The complainant stated that an unknown suspect damaged his vehicle in the 300 block of North Heritage Parkway. A report was generated for criminal mischief.


Assault with deadly weapon — Dispatch received a third party phone call June 4 in reference to a shooting that took place in the 500 block of North Montgomery. The caller advised that a family member had been shot at but had since left the location. Police arrived and located the victim, unharmed. An investigation was conducted and a report for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon was filed.


Theft of property — The public safety administrator made contact on June 4 with a female complainant in reference to a theft in the 1800 block of North Loy Lake. She stated she left property in her shopping cart that was taken. A report for theft was generated.


Evading arrest — An officer attempted to stop a motorcycle June 5 at North Heritage Parkway and Taylor Street for traffic violations. The operator of the motorcycle fled from the traffic stop at a high rate of speed. Officers generated a report for evading arrest/detention with vehicle for charges to be filed against the operator.


Prohibited substance in correctional facility — An officer was patrolling on June 5 in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway, and he spoke with a male riding a bicycle. While speaking with the male, he was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to the Grayson County Jail. While in jail, he was found to be in possession of additional contraband.


Driving while license invalid — An officer responded on June 5 to a vehicle crash in the 400 block of East U.S. Highway 82 westbound. The driver of one of the vehicles had a suspended license and no insurance. A report was taken, and the driver will be filed on at large.


Theft of property — A male complainant made phone contact on June 5 with the public safety administrator in reference to someone stealing property from his business in the 5600 block of Texoma Parkway.


Driving while license invalid — Officers conducted a traffic stop on June 5 near the intersection of Knollwood Drive and Northcreek Drive. The male driver showed to have a suspended driver’s license and was also driving a vehicle without insurance. He was arrested for driving while license invalid with no insurance, in addition to two outstanding Grayson County warrants. He was transported to the Grayson County Jail.


Unauthorized use of vehicle — An officer was dispatched on June 6 to the 2400 block of South First Street in reference to a vehicle theft and firearm theft. The victim reported that his grandson took a truck and the handgun without permission. A report was generated for unauthorized use of a vehicle and theft of firearm.


Driving while license invalid — An officer conducted a traffic stop on June 6 in the 3400 block of North U.S. Highway 75. The male driver was found to have an invalid driver’s license. A report for driving while license invalid with previous conviction/without financial responsibility was filed.


Assault — A female victim entered the Sherman Police Department and stated that she had been hit in the face by her ex-boyfriend in the 1800 block of West Scott Street. A report was taken for assault by contact by family member.


Theft — Officers were dispatched on June 6 to the 500 block of East Lamar Street in reference to a stolen vehicle. It was found that the victim’s vehicle was stolen from a parking lot. A report was generated for theft from $2,500-$30,000.
