Melissa Police


Possession of marijuana — Officers responded to a single vehicle accident on March 29 at the intersection of US Highway 75 at Melissa Road. A 29-year-old male driver from Lewisville was arrested for possession of marijuana.


Assault — Officers were dispatched on March 30 to a disturbance in the 3500 block of East Melissa Road. A 23-year-old female from Melissa arrested for assault causing bodily injury.


Information report — Officers were dispatched on March 31 to missing person in the 1200 block of Coleman Drive. The person was located and a report made for documentation purposes only.


Possession — Officers were contacted by an individual on April 1 regarding a missing person in the 4200 block of Ridgewood Road. A 22-year-old male from Melissa arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia


Burglary — Suspects broke into a locked railway car parked on the train tracks in the 1900 block of Denton Street and stole tool bags with miscellaneous items on April 3.


Theft — A suspect stole a trailer with a winch on it from a parking lot on Sam Rayburn Highway on April 3.


Accident — Officers responded on April 5 to a major accident at US Highway 75 near Throckmorton Road. A semi collided with another vehicle and then left the scene.


Possession — Officers were dispatched on April 6 to an accident at US Highway 75 near Davis Road. Illegal drugs were found in the vehicle. The only occupant of the vehicle was transported to the hospital.


Burglary — A complainant in the 2300 block of Sam Rayburn Highway reported on April 6 that someone broke out the window of his car and stole cash while he was inside a gas station.


Information report — A complainant reported on April 6 that someone who he gave permission to be in his house in the 3700 block of White Summit Lane and rifled through items in his bedroom. A report made for documentation purposes only.


Duty on strike — Officers responded on April 7 to an accident in the 5100 block of FM 545. A vehicle hit a fence and the driver fled the scene.


Criminal mischief — A complainant in the 2300 block of Sam Rayburn Highway reported on April 8 that someone damaged his vehicle while it was parked in his back yard.


Criminal mischief — A complainant in the 2300 block of Sam Houston reported on April 9 that someone spray painted a vulgar word on her driveway.
