The Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce had a busy week, holding three ribbon-cutting ceremonies to welcome new businesses to the chamber. On Monday, April 2, the chamber welcomed a unique business to the chamber with the addition of specialized entertainment business Anna Fundraising Solutions/Winners Sweepstakes.
A representative for AFS said it was formed to help support local charities. “Having worked with many of the local charities in Collin County, we know how hard it is to raise funds year after year to support the local needs of our community charities,” the representative said. “Everyone is calling on the same donors which makes fundraising very difficult. Our program takes the giving down to the everyday citizen in our community.
“Last year in McKinney, charity checks were written for over $400,000 supporting three local charities. AFS/Winners Sweepstakes of Anna provides a fun and entertaining way to raise money for our chosen charities,” the representative said. “Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA) provides the voice of kids in the court system that have been abused or neglected, and the Anna Police Explorer Youth Program promotes personal growth through character development, respect for the rule of law, physical fitness, good citizenship and patriotism. Winner’s Sweepstakes provides Anna with a fun and entertaining place to donate and play for chances to win cash and prizes while giving back to our community charities.”
The Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce executive director Kevin Hall said he is honored to have the unique business in Anna. “It is nice to have a business in Anna that is designed for entertainment. As we continue to grow these unique business ventures are looking at Anna,” Hall said. “We plan to connect Anna Fundraising Solutions/Winners Sweepstakes with our local charities so that donations can be utilized here in Anna.”
There will be a grand opening for AFS on Saturday, April 14 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Within the same week, the chamber hosted a ceremony for Your Healthcare Anna. Michael Windham, RN of Your Healthcare, said the clinic is a one stop clinic. “Your Healthcare is a family medical clinic with the capabilities and knowledge to treat minor emergencies such as lacerations, sports injuries, and remove the occasional bead from your toddler’s nose,” Windham said.
“We can also treat most chronic conditions, diabetes, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure,” he added. “Plus, we do woman’s exams, DOT physicals, sports physicals and many others. Feel free to call or stop by.
“We see patients by appointment and Walk-Ins are always welcome. We accept United Healthcare Insurance and are working on accepting many other insurance carriers. Our Self-Pay office visit is only $50. We are open Monday through Friday 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., closed 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch,” Windham said.
Your Healthcare is a family run facility, Windham said.
Hall said he was happy to welcome Your Healthcare to the chamber. “It is nice to have new businesses come to Anna and we appreciate their Chamber membership,” Hall said. “This ribbon-cutting ceremony recognizes Your Healthcare’s participation with our Greater Anna Chamber and shows they are wanting to be a part of the community. Our goal is to connect each Chamber member with other local businesses and the community at large.”
The last Monday in March saw Packard Family Orthodontics welcomed to the chamber. The ceremony was held on March 26, and Hall said the business was currently a member, just changed locations. “While Packard Family Orthodontics has been an active Greater Anna Chamber member for many years, they decided to celebrate their ribbon-cutting at their new office,” Hall said. “We are happy that they have invested in Anna for the long-haul and appreciate their membership.”
Dr. Meredith Packard and his wife have lived in McKinney since 1997. Packard received his doctorate in Dentistry from Baylor College of Dentistry. Packard received specialty training in orthodontics at Columbia University in New York City.
In 2003, Dr. Packard established Packard Family Orthodontics in McKinney and began his own private practice offering specialized care in orthodontics for adults and children. After 21 years of providing orthodontic care in McKinney, Packard Family Orthodontics has expanded its service coverage by opening an office in Anna, serving the orthodontic needs in the Anna, Melissa and Van Alstyne communities
