Interim Anna Police Chief Jeff Caponera said the week of the New Year was not as busy as one would expect. “It was a quiet New Year,” Caponera said. “We only had 173 total calls. Normally, it is in the 200 range.”


Police and accident reports


Family Violence - On Jan. 4, Anna Police received a call about a possible home invasion. Upon further inspection, police found it was a family violence incident. Police also found an open Child Protective Services investigation from out of state. Both parties were arrested.


Accident - On Dec. 31, police and fire were dispatched to County Road 373 due to an accident. There were minor injuries.


Accident - On Dec. 31, police and fire were dispatched to Highway 75 for an accident with injuries.


Accident - On Jan. 3, police and fire were dispatched to Birdbrook Drive for an accident with minor injuries.


Accident - On Jan. 4, police and fire were dispatched to Sam Rayburn Highway for a non-injury accident.

On Dec. 29, Anna FD was dispatched to Thornberry Rd for possible smoke.

On Dec. 30, Anna FD was dispatched to S. Powell Parkway for a medical assist.


On Dec. 30, Anna FD was dispatched to Brook Drive for a medical assist.


On Dec. 30, Anna FD was dispatched to County Road 373 for a medical assist.


On Dec. 31, the FD responded to a smoke detector activation call to Sequoia Drive for a fire alarm call. There was no fire.


On Jan. 1, Anna FD was dispatched to S. Powell Parkway and Stone Trail Circle for a medical assist.


On Jan. 1, Anna FD responded to Cyrus Street, O’hara and Hearn Lane for an alarm call. Upon further investigation, the alarms malfunctioned.


On Jan. 2, Anna FD was dispatched to Mesquite Lane for a medical assist.


On Jan. 2, Anna FD responded to Bat Masterson Drive, and Magnolia Street for an alarm call. They were malfunctioning.


On Jan. 3, Anna FD was dispatched to Lazy Lane and Hazel’s Way for a medical assist.


On Jan. 3, Anna FD responded to Highway 75 for a possible gas spill.


On Jan. 3, Anna FD responded to Niagra Falls Drive for a possible water or steam leak.


On Jan. 3, Anna FD responded to Avery Pointe Drive for a possible gas leak.
