Representatives of the Experimental Aircraft Association will be giving visitors to North Texas Regional Airport — Perrin Field a chance to take a step back in the history of aviation this weekend. The organization will be offering flights throughout the weekend in a 1929 Ford Trimotor — the world’s first mass-produced airliner.

From 1926 through 1933, Ford Motor Company built 1999 of the tri-motor aircraft, The aircraft currently owned by the EAA was the 146th off the assembly line and first flew in 1929.

The EAA will be conducting flights on the aircraft on Thursday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., and Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. at the main NTRA terminal building. Flights on the plane are expected to take about 30 minutes, with 15 minutes in the air. Children’s tickets are $50 on site and Adult tickets are $75.
