The weekend is here with some great outdoor events taking place in the Glen Rose area. Make it a good one, and TGIF!

1. Bluegrass Jamboree Festival

Round up the family and head to Oakdale Park for a big annual event, the Glen Rose Bluegrass Jamboree Festival, taking place Friday and Saturday. Tickets are $20 — Kids ages 16 and under are free — and the lineup includes Kody Norris, Salt Creek, Philip Ferguson & Texas True, Joe Bass & the Double Mountain Boys, Mark Phillips & IIIrd Generation, Bluegrass Outlaws, Downtown String Band, Paluxy Pickers and Cedar Junction. 2. CareFlite Paluxy Pedal

Don’t miss your chance for a scenic and challenging bike ride through the Dinosaur Capital of Texas at the CareFlite Paluxy Pedal event starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Glen Rose High School. The ride will have rest stops and water stations setup along the way and vehicles monitoring the course. The fee is $35 and riders can choose between a 29, 38, 53 or 60-mile ride. 3. Make a spider web

October is here and with Halloween approaching, Dinosaur Valley State Park has a spooky event for you. Learn about spiders and make a spider web to take home at 11 a.m. Sunday.
