At around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, July 14, Anna Police officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Creekside Drive in Anna, due to multiple reports of shots being fired in a home. When the officers arrived on the scene, they found an unconscious male with apparent gunshot wounds.
Lieutenant Jeff Caponera of the Anna Police Department said police performed CPR on 24-year-old Corey Lamar, an Anna resident, before he was transported to Medical Center of McKinney, where he succumbed to his injuries.
A GoFundMe page says Lamar was raised in DeSoto, Kansas, and graduated from DeSoto High School. It is believed Lamar had recently moved to Texas.
The Anna Police Department is working with the Texas Rangers and the Collin County Sheriff’s Office and are actively investigating leads.
