Anna Police


Anna Police Officer Rush Smith reported on the following incidents, which happened between Feb. 3 and Feb. 13.


Scam — On Feb. 3 a Howe resident filed a complaint that she had been searching for a house to rent in Anna, and found one through an unidentified source. She sent the required deposit money to someone in Virginia, through MoneyGram, and then learned that the recipient was not the homeowner; but was instead a scammer. Smith said this type scam of happens fairly regularly. He cautioned that individuals should always pay deposits in person. Police are continuing their investigation.

Harassment — On Feb. 8 police were called to Andrews Court in reference to online harassment. Smith said someone was posting items without the reporting person’s permission.

Trespassing — On Feb. 8 police began the investigation into one or more trespassers in the 1000 block of West White. The person or people were gone before officers arrived, and police are continuing their investigation.

Drag racing — On Feb. 8 police arrested one of two drivers who were drag racing on Rosemont Parkway near Slater Creek Park. Smith said police issued citations for driving on the wrong side of the road, and jailed the one driver on a warrant issued in Grayson County, charging him with criminal mischief.

DWI — On Feb. 11 police stopped a vehicle on U.S. Hwy 75 at FM 455 for reckless driving. Smith said the officer jailed the driver on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Melissa Police


Information report — Officers were dispatched on Jan. 31 to a disturbance in the 2300 block of Mallard Drive. A report was made for documentation purposes only.


Forgery — A complainant came to the police department lobby on Feb. 1 and reported that someone forged and cashed checks in her name.


Criminal mischief — A complainant reported on Feb. 1 that someone vandalized his pickup truck in the 1200 block of Central Expressway.


Information report — Officers responded to a report of a suicide threat on Feb. 3. The person was transported to the hospital for evaluation.


Burglary — A complainant reported on Feb. 3 that a suspect entered their residence in the 4400 block of Sycamore without consent and removed paperwork without permission.


Possession — An officer stopped a vehicle at East Melissa Road and Hunters Ridge on Feb. 4. The driver was arrested for possession of marijuana.


Theft — A complainant advised on Feb. 4 that someone was illegally hooking up to a water meter at a vacant rent house he owns in the 4300 block of Mimosa Drive.


Possession — An officer stopped a vehicle on Feb. 4 at State Highway 121 and Washington Drive. The passenger was arrested for possession of marijuana.


Information report — An officer was dispatched on Feb. 5 to a hospital in McKinney in reference to a possible drug overdose. A report was made for documentation purposes only.


Driving while intoxicated — An officer stopped a vehicle on Feb. 5 at Melissa Road and the U.S. 75 Access Road. The driver was arrested for DWI.


Information report — Officers were dispatched on Feb. 6 to domestic disturbance in the 2300 block of Knox Way. A report was made for documentation purposes only.


Accident —A complainant reported on Feb. 6 that suspect vehicle struck his car in the 2000 block of McKinney Street, and then left the scene without leaving any of their information.


Information report — A complainant reported on Feb. 6 that someone gained access to her computer and all of her identifying information. A report was taken for documentation purposes only.
