The Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce is gearing up to host its annual awards banquet. Kevin Hall, the executive director of the GACC said the chamber organizes these banquets to allow business and community members the opportunity to meet and to highlight members who have gone above and beyond the normal call of duty.
“This is a time for chamber members to mix and mingle with each other, the community and representatives from the city of Anna,” Hall said.
The awards to be given out include: Volunteer of the Year, Educator of the Year, Innovation Award, Business of the Year, Community Partner of the Year, Citizens Award, New Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award.
The banquet will be held on Feb. 25 at Anna High School from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Proceeds from the banquet will be used to help benefit the GACC scholarship, which is given to a graduating student in the Anna Independent School district.
There will be grab bags available for purchase. The items in the bags are generally donated from community members and might include jewelry and other nice gifts. This gala is open to anybody who would like to attend; however, most attendees are chamber members, city of Anna employees and nominees.
Hall said he always enjoys this annual event.
“We are looking forward to our ninth Annual Awards Banquet at Anna High School,” Hall said. “Tickets are still available for $35 by contacting the chamber office. This will cover a delicious catered meal, raffle, grab boxes and a seat during the awards ceremony.”
Hall also said he is thankful for the support the GACC has received.
“We have tremendous support from our sponsors, such as the Anna Economic Development Corporation and Texas Star Bank, as well as many others,” Hall said. “Thank you to the community who nominated and voted for the prestigious awards such as, Volunteer of the Year and Business of the Year.”
Hall said there is also countless other businesses that have donated to the organization.
