At about noon on Monday, Jan. 30, two sedans collided at the intersection of FM 455 and Highway 5. Lt. Jeff Caponera, Anna public information officer, said that the driver of a vehicle on FM 455 was behind a truck that made a legal right turn on red at the traffic light. She apparently assumed, Caponera said, that the light for east-west traffic had turned green and entered the intersection. At that time, the second vehicle, going north on SH 5, also entered that intersection. The two vehicles collided.
Caponera said that both drivers were out of their vehicles and walking around at the scene, but that Anna EMS took both of them to an area hospital to be checked out. No citations had yet been issued.
