On the morning of Sept. 14, Ferguson Parkway at the intersection of Black Willow was blocked with multiple police vehicles, two fire engines and two ambulances in response to a vehicle collision involving an Anna ISD school bus and a Jeep SUV.
According to Anna police information, the female driver of the Jeep SUV ran a stop sign at Black Willow, and in making the turn onto Ferguson Parkway hit the Anna school bus. At the time the bus was carrying students who were on the way to school, but fortunately no students were injured. The driver of the Jeep was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Anna ISD Executive Director Bradley Duncan said that following the district’s emergency protocols, all students on the bus were checked out by EMS.
In other police activity, Anna Police Det. Steve Williams said that officers took two vehicle burglary reports, one on Thursday, Sept. 8 in the 1600 block of Oak Hollow Drive and the second on Saturday, Sept. 10 in the700 block of U.S. 75. Both vehicles, according to Williams, were left unlocked and personal property was taken from both.
