The future of the City of Anna was the topic at the August meeting of Networking University at Texas Land and Cattle in Fairview. Kevin Hall, director of the Greater Anna Chamber of Commerce, was the guest speaker and his topic was “Business is Booming in Anna.”

“Anna today is where McKinney was 10-15 years ago,” Hall said to the group of more than 20 members and guests. “We are in an ideal location and prepared for growth.”

Hall had an informative slideshow presentation of the location of Anna, one slide displaying the breakdown of Anna by residential and commercial property. According to the Collin County Association of Realtors, home growth In Anna has grown significantly over the past five years. In 2011, the average sales price of a home was $127,093. In 2016, the total has risen to $210,648. The average days a house has been listed on the market decreased from 80 in 2011 to 31 in 2016. And the number of new listings has gone from 335 in 2011 to a projected total of over 650 in 2016 (355 for the first six months of the year.) Hall said that a Walmart Supercenter is being built, along with multiple pad sites and strip center.
