The 14th annual Melissa Open Golf Tournament was held Saturday, May 6, at the Heritage Ranch Golf Club in Fairview. The torunament is the Melissa Bosster Club’s largest fundraiser.


Money raised at the tournament will benefit the needs of Melissa High School and Melissa Middle School students in athletics, cheerleading, fine arts (band, choir, theatre/drama), and UIL Academics.


The team of Scott Birmingham, Mike Birmingham, Brenden Pappas and Bob Wilson took first place, and the team of Shane Zehner, David Ifft, David Janis and Colton Boddy took second place.


Ben Poole won the putting contest and Jake Ethridge won the chipping contest. Macie Seeker took home the prize for the women’s longest drive, and Keith Piyakhun took the men’s longest drive.


Colin McClain, Clayton Strolle, Lawrence Feuer and Mark Gunstenson were named the closest to pin.
