Melissa Middle School will host a come-and-go Instrument Drive on Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Band Hall for incoming sixth grade students who are interested in joining the middle school band program.

The beginning band is the largest organization at Melissa Middle School and is open to all sixth grade students. Highlights include learning how to play an instrument, attending band class every day, and performing at three concerts.

At the Instrument Drive, students will have the opportunity to try several instruments under the direction of a band director, and ultimately decide on the best-fit instrument for them. Instrument and supply rentals will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, courtesy of SAIED Music Company.

For those unable to attend the Instrument Drive, a make-up night is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 23 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the Band Hall.
