On Monday, the Texas Department of Transportation will begin making improvements on U.S. Highway 82.
TxDOT spokespeople said that R.K. Hall Construction LTD, of Paris, has been awarded the improvement contract at a cost of $2,943,936. The work includes the area between U.S. Highway 69 and Calf Creek Road east of Sherman, including several exit and entrance ramps.
The work will consist of applying of hot mix asphalt concrete overlay to the existing roadway and shoulders and adding new pavement markings. It is expected to be completed within 57 working days, with an anticipated completion date in February 2010.
The first signs of this project will be the placement of message boards, project signs, and barricades early this week. Construction will actually begin next Monday.
