Justice for kids
ONHAM -- The sixth annual "Justice Is Served" fundraiser for the Fannin County Children's Center will be Sept. 11 at the Multi-Purpose Complex west of Bonham. Activities begin at 6:30 p.m., and the event theme is "Evening of Elegance."
The evening kicks off with a dinner, served by more than 20 judges and other officials in the justice field.
The auction will include several handcrafted items, including a patio cooler made by Robert and Sandy Hood and a cedar garden bench made by Judge Alan Hale. Also up for bids till be tickets to the Texas Rangers, FC Dallas Soccer, Hawaiian Falls and Sea World San Antonio, jewelry, gift baskets, gift certificates, collectibles, homemade goodies and other unique items.
Proceeds from the event will help sustain the programs of the Children's Center, including CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and the Children's Advocacy Center. The nonprofit agency's mission is to protect and enhance the quality of life of the abused, neglected and needy children of Fannin County.
