Waterloo Pool Fall schedule
With the start of the school year, Waterloo Pool in Denison has revised its hours. The indoor pool is located at 1501 Brock in Denison and offers a variety of hydrofitness and exercise programs for all ages, swimming lessons, the Dolphins Swim Team, recreational swimming and availability for private parties and gatherings.
The school-year schedule and fees are:
Lap swimming, $2.50 adults: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 6 a.m. until 9 a.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.; and Monday through Thursday, 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m;
Hydrofitness , $2.50: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 6 a.m. until 10 a.m.; and Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. until 10 a.m;
Recreational swim, $2.50 adults, $2 children ages 2-15, and free under age 2: Tuesday and Thursday, 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m; Aqua-Fit classes, $3 per class or $34 per month: Monday through Friday, 9:15a.m. until10:15 a.m; and Tuesday and Thursday, 6 p.m. until 7 p.m;
Rusty Hinges classes, $3 per class or $34 per month: Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m;
Deep Water classes, $3 per class or $34 per month: Monday through Thursday, 6 p.m. until 7 p.m;
Dolphins swim team, $3 per class or $40 per month: Monday through Thursday, 4 p.m. until 6 p.m;
Group swim lessons $35 per child, per session: two sessions, Sept. 13-23 and Oct. 4-14, Monday through Thursday, 6 p.m. until 6:55 p.m;
Passes are available for lap swim, hydrofitness, and recreational swim only. They will not cover fitness classes. The costs are: individual annual, $100; senior individual annual, $70; senior couple annual, $130; and family of four annual $160 ($60 for each additional family member).
On Saturdays and Sundays, the pool is reserved for private parties. Contact the Denison Parks and Recreation office at 903-463-5116, or call the pool at 903-464-4475 for available dates and times and other information on booking private rentals.

If I read this correctly, during the school year, school aged children will only be allowed to swim in the pool from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and then only on Tuesdays and Thursdays?
Why does it seem like those in charge work so hard to prevent our local kids from simply enjoying our city pool?
