The ninth-ranked Melissa Cardinals continued their march through district play with wins over Gunter and Whitewright.

Leading 41-5 at halftime Tuesday night, the Cardinals had no need to play any starters in the second half and cruised against the Gunter Tigers, 54-34.

The win improved Melissa's district record to 10-0 with four games remaining.

The team's seniors were recognized before the game. this year's seniors include Eric Bancroft, Trent Bazis, Cody Little, Brodie Russell, videographer Caleb LaFon and manager Jon Vroman.

The Cardinals squeezed in a game Friday in Whitewright before inclement weather set in, winning 72-59.
