On Monday, Jan 16 at 7:40 p.m. officers responded to a major traffic accident at FM 455 near CR 287, just west of the truck stops. Officers arrived to find that the crash involved one vehicle - a motorcycle - and two fatalities.

Preliminary investigation, according to Anna Police Sgt. Jeff Caponera, indicates that the motorcycle was westbound on FM 455 and as the vehicle entered the curve, the driver failed to negotiate the corner. The motorcycle left the roadway and struck a traffic direction sign pole killing both the driver and passenger.

The driver was identified as Anna resident Ryan Lorenz, 26. The passenger was identified as Jennifer Chennault, 29, of Ladonia. Neither person was wearing a helmet.

“The investigation into the crash continues,” said Caponera.
