Trying to score the Jon Bon Jovi interview Sometimes one just has to admit they are a bit slow .... make that major slow ... on some aspect of life or work. For weeks, I have chased Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora only to find that I really held in my hand all that I needed.

To everyone who didn't write in and say "read the liner notes you great twit," I am appreciative. It was all right there folks. Who knows if I can make anything happen with the information I found, but at least I will know I got the request to the right person.

The liner notes actually turned out to be a pretty good read. It got me to thinking that we should have something like that in the newspaper biz. It would be nice if, at least every once in a while, we could tell the reader about the people who helped us out along the way. So excuse me for a minute while I go a little rock star.

On this stage of the quest for the Bon Jovi interview, I would be remiss if I didn't thank my bud Kathryn Taylor. Kathryn is that special combination of bud and sister from another mother who is always there to walk me through whatever crazy jaunt my muse inspires. She knows me well enough to tell me when I am over reaching and loves me enough to say "go ahead." We all need a few of those people in our lives. I am blessed to have her.

There are dozens of people every day who help me find the information I need to write stories. Some of them are elected officials who are just trying to get information out to their constituents. Others are county, city, state or private sector employees who answer phone calls at all hours and chase down facts or offer insight. I try to remember to thank them along the way, but just in case I ever forget, I want to say it now to just a few of them including Sarah Somers, Jeff Schneider, Shelle Cassell, Bobbie Cate, James Fry, Jason Butscher, Vickie Kirby, Van Price, Alan Burton, Richey Rivers, Deana Patterson and Brenda Brychta. You all, and countless others, help me get it right when it counts. And, when I get it wrong, it is all me.
