Lady Coyotes Improve to 12-4

In incredible start to the season continued this week as the Lady Coyotes took third in the Wolfe City tournament and then took down Bells on Tuesday night to improve their record to 12-4 this season.
Courtney Gililland was named to the all tournament team.
"If we continue to improve every game than I'm happy," coach Tomika Crosby said after the win over Bells. "We've got to continue to work hard every night and can't look ahead."
Anna 3, Bells 0
A week ago, Bells stunned Anna by defeating them for their second loss of the season. The Lady Coyotes were looking for revenge on Tuesday night as they hosted the Lady Panthers - Anna won the set in three.
Alyssa Lairson got Anna off to a strong start in the first game with an ace that gave the Lady Coyotes a 2-1 lead. Anna would build the lead to 11-3 before Bells would battle back into the game.
With two kills each from Shantel Ramsey and Jessie Thomas the Lady Coyotes battled down the stretch before Lairson put the first game away with a kill and a 25-16 win.
"We have strong hitters and we are working everyday to learn to play smart," Crosby said. "We are learning how to see the court and play the ball where we want it."
Lairson got the Lady Coyotes off to another fast start in the second match with two kills but Bells stayed close throughout the game. Shannon Barnes and Renee Erwin's strong serving made the difference in the game.
Leading by one point, a Ramsey kill would seal the deal and give Anna a 26-24 win in the second game.
Erwin landed four serves to start the third and final game. Syscily Brown's strong net play late in the game gave the Lady Coyotes the breathing room they needed as Anna put Bells away 25-21.
Anna 2, Wolfe City 0
In their final game of the Wolf City tourney, the Lady Coyotes went head-to-head against the host team for the third place trophy. Anna won the set in two games 25-14, 25-21.
Anna 0, Savoy 2
Savoy got the best of Anna on Saturday, winning both games 25-18.
Anna 2, Collinsville 0
The Lady Coyotes went head to head against Collinsville in their first game on Saturday. Anna won the set in two, 25-11 and 25-15.
Anna 3, Pottsboro 0
On Friday night, Anna got revenge against the team that defeated the Lady Coyotes in the Collin County Spikefest - Anna's first loss of the season. The Lady Coyotes won in three, 25-22, 25-22 and 25-20.
Anna 2, Trenton 0
At the Wolfe City tourney on Thursday, Anna overtook Trenton two games to none, 25-17 and 25-11.
Anna 1, Blue Ridge 2
The Lady Coyotes lone loss on Thursday came at the hands of Blue Ridge. Anna throttled the Lady Tigers in their match up at the Spikefest. Anna won the first match of the set 25-15 and then Blue Ridge came back to win the last two games 25-20 and 26-24.
The Lady Coyotes will participate in the Bells Tournament on Thursday and Saturday and will take on Collinsville on Friday night.
